Jill Parker, the founder of the modern Tribal Fusion belly dance phenomenon, created this program to bring the best of her classes to you.
Every class starts with a 7-minute dynamic mobility warm-up that helps improve flexibility, joint health, and range of motion. In these classes Jill teaches essential belly dance techniques from arm patterns and adulations to shimmy. In the process, you will work on your proprioception (the sense of the body in space), balance, posture, strength and functional movement.
The greatest benefits of this program (and dance in general) are for the brain. Studies show that dance helps reduce stress, increases levels of the feel-good hormone serotonin, and helps develop new neural connections, especially in regions involved in executive function and long-term memory.
